METROPOLIS
Metropolis condos in Midtown Atlanta is a 21 story 498 unit building on Peachtree Street. Completed in 2002, the Metropolis condos are located at the heart of the vibrant Midtown Mile convenient to Marta’s 10th Street station and the Federal Reserve. The Metropolis was built by local developer Novare Group. Novare has built several other condo buildings in Midtown Atlanta including, Spire, Viewpoint, Peachtree lofts, 33 Ponce, Sky house, and the Biltmore. The Metropolis is just a few blocks from Piedmont Park, and is surrounded by restaurants and retail, including shops located on the first floor. The retail shops in the Metropolis are Midtown Blue, Taco Mac Midtown, Orangetheory Fitness Midtown, Sweet Hut, The Ups Store, Jimmy Johns, Newks and Fado Irish Pub Midtown. The Metropolis condos won a 2004 Golden Shoe Award from the pedestrian advocate group PEDS, for pedestrian-friendly design in architecture. The Metropolis in Midtown has a half-acre park on the 7th floor, including a pool and urban garden. During construction, Peachtree Street was closed to hoist 15 full-sized trees onto the deck to create this urban oasis. Other amenities at Metropolis include full-service concierge available 24 hours a day, a state-of-the-art fitness center and a hip club room called ClubM. Metropolis condos feature hardwood or concrete floors, exposed ductwork, 10-foot ceilings with exposed concrete, floor-to-ceiling windows with spectacular views of the Atlanta skyline. All condos have expansive balconies or terraces. Kitchens were originally appointed with stainless steel appliances, a microwave, granite counters, breakfast bars and dark or light maple cabinetry. Baths are tiled, and many master baths have garden tubs and separate showers. The towers of Metropolis are linked by a spacious lobby and a seventh-floor terrace.
